Effective Marketing is Online

If you ask any SEO consultant they would tell you in a heartbeat that search marketing is the most effective form of online marketing. But who would believe them? After all its in their best interest to tout the services that they provide, its called job security. But a recent study from eMarketer showed that SEO, with PPC second, is the most effective form of direct response advertising.

Hiring an SEO consultant to optimize your website is quickly becoming a necesity as competition online grows and as more and more people are finding out, via third party trusted sources like eMarketer, that this SEO thing is very legit and very profitable. This also means that there is tremendous oportunity in the SEO field. It is grossly under-represented in the online marketing mix and it has been proven many times that big companies do a very poor job of optimizing their sites.

Hiring a Web development company that understands SEO Web design is still very difficult. Sure 99% of developers and designers will tell you that they know SEO and that it is actually quite simple. Well, if it were that easy then everyone would be Internet millionaires! And those Web developers that claim SEO knowledge almost always can’t get you ranked in the top 5 for any of your keywords. This is mostly due to the fact that it boils down to link building once the on site optimization is in place. And even most SEO firms have a tough time with this.

So make sure that you hire a professional to handle your SEO and that you take it seriously and make sure that your link building campaign is solid!
